Hey, just wondering about why there's a new format on www.covblogs.com, where you can only see the entries of the day when you get on? I thought it was more fun to see, you know, a number of the recent entries.
You guys do a great job with covblogs, thanks for making it available!

if I am wanting to update a banner (include an image), would I do that in the banner template?

I agree with Joanna about the current state of the blogs. On Bostonblogs it's just kind of embarassing because we don't blog every day and there are only six of us anyway. Plus, for those who check the blog sporadically they might get confused and leave, thinking we haven't blogged at all and then we would miss all of their valuable comments.
We really do appreciate having this little portal to the great blogging world.

mrscrumley – probably so, but which blog are you talking about?

I was working on bandb.covblogs.com

Yo, my blog, 'from dublin with love' is not accepting me as an author (maybe I am using the wrong name?) and thus I have not been able to update. No names I have tried have worked so I can't even get my password sent to me. Sorry this is the way only way I found to let you know about my problem. Also, thanks for the hard work...

My monthly archives don't seem to exist at all. I have tried rebuilding several times and it doesn't work. I have no idea what I did in the first place.
How can I fix it?

Carrie/covenantgal,
Your monthly archives are being created, however the template for those archives is all out of wack. I would suggest copying the "Date Based Archive" template from above and replacing your "Date Based Archive" template and then rebuilding your blog. This should fix your problem.
Let us know if you need anything more.

You guys are great. Thanks for all the hard work.
At my own peril I cut and pasted the default templates into my blog, including the additional modules. I have all the old templates saved in Word. When I try to rebuild (all files), I keep getting this message:
Building entry 'Another Use for Duct Tape' failed: Build error in template 'Date-Based Archive': Error in tag: Can't find included template module 'BANNER'
can you please help me with this one........and I'll try real hard not to make anymore errors.

Rubykate,
The issue you are experiencing is no doubt caused by poor communication on our part. You have named the modules "Banner Module", "Links Module", etc. when they actually should be name BANNER, LINKS, SIDESTUFF, etc. The way that we presented the module names on this page was incorrect. I have fixed the naming of the module templates on this page so that we might avoid future confusion. However, for your part, if you simply rename your module templates to BANNER, LINKS, etc. you should be able to successfully rebuild your blog.
Let us know if you have any more trouble.

Thanks for helping me out before. Okay, I have more questions.
1. How to I get the calender back on the sidebar? I tried to cut and paste....but that didn't work.
2. How do I get my sidebar to be on the left?
3. What am I supposed to do with the SIDEBAR, BANNER, etc.. modules? I ended up adding side items to the main index so they would look right.
4. If I want to make my banner cool, how do I do it? (ie. making a collage of pictures or something)
I don't need immediate help, just sometime when you have a spare moment or are bored. I have checked out several so-called "helpful" sites, but it doesn't click in my brain. I need a real person to explain it to me... Hope things are going well in Chattanooga. Thanks for all the hard work.
