There are still some bugs with domain indexing pages that will be worked out over the next few days. However, you should now be able to blog.

So, give it a try. Log in the same way you always have and try out our new and improved blogging experience.

Comments are not working, no link or ability to comment.

Posted by: John(GraspingfortheWind) at June 7, 2008 7:34 PM

never mind, figured it out. Will we be getting any sort of plug in for email notification of comments to the individuals who wrote them and then subsequent replies?

Posted by: John(GraspingfortheWind) at June 7, 2008 8:10 PM

John,

There is a plugin that provides the functionality that you describe. However, in the past, we have avoided such plugins because they have become the target of email spammers. I will research the MT 4 plugin to determine whether or not it is more secure. We'll let you know if it gets installed.

Just tried to do a blog post from flickr.com and it complained of web issues. It looks like the index of atlblogs.com is updated and when I click there I see theupdated post, but my main blog page does not show the update. Thanks, Andy Perkins

Posted by: andyp at June 8, 2008 12:54 AM

I have gotten several comments and none of them are showing up on the site. I went in and edited a comment and when I hit save I got an error.

Posted by: office spam at June 8, 2008 3:09 PM

office spam:

The error you are seeing is in your "COMMENTCOUNT" template module. It is using a plugin, MTContentiousEntries, which is not supported in MT4. We'll have to find another way to do your most commented on entries list. This is also the reason that your comments aren't showing up, your page is unable to build.

Posted by: admin at June 8, 2008 9:11 PM

andyp:

Your main index template was all screwed up, so I pulled a database backup and restored your template to its previous state. Once done I rebuilt your blog and all seems to be working again. let us know if you have any more trouble.

Posted by: admin at June 8, 2008 9:36 PM

Publish error: Publish error in template 'Individual Entry Archive': Unknown tag found: CloseComments

I get this message when I try to publish or preview my entry. please help, thanks

Posted by: grace at June 8, 2008 9:55 PM

grace:

I have fixed your publishing error and successfully rebuilt your blog.

Let us know if you have any more trouble.

Posted by: admin at June 8, 2008 10:02 PM

I am getting problems I think due to Sitemeter (which has never worked well for me anyway)

"Publish error in template 'Main Index': Error in tag: Can't find included template module 'SiteMeter'"

Posted by: cmwillis at June 9, 2008 1:50 PM

cmwillis:

I've removed all references to the non-existent SiteMeter template module, fixed one other issue and successfully rebuilt your blog.

Let us know if you have any more issues.

Posted by: admin at June 9, 2008 3:58 PM

I was stupid and didn't save my previous template before attempting a new style since MT4 offers some nice new options.

Now I seem to have clobbered my previous template/style sheet. My sidebar is now at the end and individual entries are now center justified. Would you be able to - at least - restore my previous installation it would be appreciated. If you could tell me what I need to do to correct my current problems, I'd be happy to open up the hood and fix the code myself.

Thank you,
David

What's up with scheduling? I can't seem to get it to work.

Posted by: John at June 11, 2008 2:09 PM

im having comment issues. The recent comment "excerpts" on the right hand side of my blog display the entire comment. Oddly, the terrablogs site looks the same too. hmmmm...

thanks for working on the upgrades! It's worth the bugs for progress.

Posted by: kirk at June 11, 2008 2:47 PM

kirk:

In your "Main Index" template you've got some code in the "Recent Comments" section that looks like this:

<$MTCommentBody excerpt_words="5"$>

change that to look like this:

<mt:CommentBody words="5" />

and you should be back to normal.

Posted by: admin at June 11, 2008 2:57 PM

John:

The process that manages scheduled posting has not yet been turned on because I haven't had a chance to look it over yet. Hopefully I'll get to it soon and get it working. We'll let you know if we do.

Posted by: admin at June 11, 2008 3:06 PM

I have this annoying code that's at the top of each of my entries before a picture. How do I avoid this tid-bit??

Posted by: katiek at June 16, 2008 10:39 PM

katiek:

You had some extraneous code in your Main Index template. I have removed that code and rebuilt your blog. I think that solved your problem.

Let us know if you have any more issues.

Posted by: admin at June 17, 2008 9:23 AM

Hey,

I started playing around with stuff in the new UI, and I think i jacked up the index.html template with random code, now the blog looks like junk. If I could get it restored to it's happier, original state this morning, that would be wonderful. Sorry for the mess!

Posted by: matt at June 17, 2008 3:50 PM

Hi there!

I can access monthly pages from my archives, but when I try to access individual pages, I get this message:

Forbidden You don't have permission to access /archives/2007/08/.html on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Apache/1.3.41 Server at timandjo.covblogs.com Port 80

Thanks for your help!!!!

Thank you sooooo much!

Posted by: Joanna at June 18, 2008 11:40 AM

So I'm not really savvy when it comes to updating my blog...beyond writing entires and posting. I tried to change my style and something didn't work and I also seem to not have access to my individual archives. I get a forbidden message. Thanks!

Posted by: austina at June 19, 2008 2:28 PM

austina:

I've fixed the urls on your archives so that you have access to them again.

I'm not sure what you want done about your styles. Do you want your stylesheet set back to the old one or are you trying to use one of the new MT 4 styles?

Posted by: admin at June 19, 2008 4:44 PM

I hadn't blogged in a while, so I just now discovered the upgrade. I see that comments appear to be disabled on my blog even though it looks like I've enabled everything. Is that something on your end? Oh yeah, and my archive urls are appending .html on the end even though I thought I'd turned that off as well.

Posted by: kathryn at June 25, 2008 3:58 AM

Ignore my previous comment, I seem to have gotten everything working now.

Posted by: kathryn at June 25, 2008 9:30 PM

Ok, I think I'm a moron, in trying to redesign my blog, I'm now getting internal server errors when I try to access my blog. Would you mind taking a look?

Thanks

Posted by: kathryn at June 26, 2008 3:08 AM

Am having the same problem as Kathryn as no comments are showing up and "recent comments" is blank. Unlike her, I can't figure it out! Looks like everything is enabled, but.... help?

Posted by: charity at June 28, 2008 9:13 PM

So, yeah, i was trying to apply a new imported template and seemed to have messed things up. :) and the "blog guts" category says it can't be found. Any way to start me over so that I can apply templates?

Posted by: charity at June 29, 2008 3:18 PM

Hey, guys, as soon as possible, would you mind checking for the e-mail I sent you? It's really important that I get that page off of public domain. Thanks so much.

Posted by: jeremy at July 7, 2008 5:30 PM

I usually change images on my sidebars every month or so. I found my template etc. but I can't figure out how to upload photos to my Sidestuff Left Template. Help?

Posted by: katiek at July 11, 2008 8:29 AM

Oops. i tried to update the look of the blog, but it didnt' work.

I'd like to either be restored to my old style (this morning), or figure out how to update to MT 4. Is there a how-to for this?

Posted by: tom at July 11, 2008 12:20 PM

Hey Guys, I haven't posted on mine in a couple months but since the change the photos on my sidebar over each heading have disapeared and my comments are showing from awhile back instead of the most recent and have been stuck like that. Thanks for the help!

Posted by: Gypsy at July 11, 2008 11:14 PM

I forgot - My blog's header design has also dissapeared. Help Please!

Posted by: Gypsy at July 13, 2008 3:28 PM

Tom:

I've upgraded your templates to the MT 4 defaults using the "Refresh Blog Templates" Action on the right side of the template management page.

Let us know if you have any more trouble.

Posted by: Admin at July 15, 2008 4:17 PM

Could you fix my comments? They haven't been working since the upgrade. One can click on comments, but then the comments section disappears.

Thanks,
Carrie

Posted by: Carrie at July 18, 2008 12:26 PM

Carrie:

I have fixed your comments section.

Posted by: admin at July 18, 2008 1:56 PM

My previous problem is fixed, but now I can't comment on my blog from the main page. It says 'Invalid Request'. Did I mess something up? Appreciate your help as we just had a baby and I'd like to get people's comments. Thanks for the help!

Posted by: andyp at July 21, 2008 6:57 PM

Post on my entries is still not an option. Is there something that I need to do, or something that you need to do before that can happen?

Posted by: Annamarie at July 27, 2008 11:59 AM

It has been two years since I used my blog. Now I want to use it again. I can log in, but I can't seem to post to the blog any more. my post about tents went on to chattablogs, but not my own blog: http://blog.christopherpercycollier.com/

any help???

Posted by: cpercycoll at July 28, 2008 3:03 PM

My blog design is messed up. I've waited for it to fix itself, but it hasn't. Can somebody please fix it? Thanks.

Posted by: heiders at July 29, 2008 9:38 AM

My blog design is now fixed when you go straight to the url, but not when you click on it through the bostonblogs homepage. Is there a way to fix it completely?

Posted by: heiders at July 31, 2008 2:05 PM

I can't post pictures any smaller than the largest size. I used to be able to do that, but now, when I click on the button, it unclicks when I type the pixel size, when I click it again, it shows that it is fine until I click on the positioning, then when I click/select it again 50 percent of the time (or more) it STILL unclicks when I click finish, or even when hit enter.
PLEASE HELP!

Can anyone tell me how to export files on the new MT4? I want to back up my blog, but can't seem to find a durn link for it! It's a little intimidating poking around in there. I'm in over my head.

My Comments are not working again....is there something I can do to keep this from happening. I haven't change anything except posting new entries. HELP

Posted by: katiek at September 17, 2008 2:38 PM

You have a member with a blog posting titled "Oh clever clever where's your heart" which is not only grammatically errant but is also lacking in creative crediting to Blake S. and Jawbreaker. She seems to imply both through omission and lack of quotation marks that she is the author of several Jawbreaker songs/poetry. GROSS. Please investigate and call out. They may now be defunct and never once enjoyed the glory they deserved, but some undergrad lowlife imitator presenting their genius as her own would just be too hard to bear. I will pass this same email on to Blake and crew...

Posted by: Raw Power at December 14, 2008 6:49 AM

how can I post images on my sidebar? I used to be able to do this easily, now the images list is a little overwhelming. Any help? I may go to the MT.org site/blog and see if I can find some answers there too. Thanks for all you do guys!
